Oh my goodness, Life goes so fast!

So much has happened in such little time. I feel like I was pregnant FOREVER then all of the sudden here he is! It is like that I guess, months of waiting and planning and dreaming. Then... a trip to the dr. and a few hours later you have a baby. Not just a baby but a little brother, second son, wiggly little wet diaper. My plan is to use this blog as a baby book and try to keep track of all those little things. Right now I only have time to put down a few words and some pics. I know you all want the pics anyway.

For a milestone for Hudson... He slept though the night! He slept from 11:30 last night to 5:30 this morning. I don't know if he will do it again anytime soon but I will enjoy it while I can.

She has a baby in her tummy!

I was looking on the web last night for a baby wrap that I saw in Parent's Magazine. I had made a wrap like this for Lane but could never figure out how to tie it. Lane was sitting next to me when he saw this picutre. He said "There is a baby in her tummy! but his head is sticking out!" Then he pulled up my shirt to make sure Hudson's head was not sticking out yet. He found that Hudson was still all tucked in to mommy's tummy so he gave him a kiss where he thought the head would be. How cute is that!!

For those of you who do not know, I LOVE baby slings and wraps. I spent the first couple of months walking circles in our house holding Lane wishing I had some way to strap him to me. I even tried tying towels around myself. It was not until he was 6 months old that I figured out that "hey, I can sew" maybe I can make something. Well come to find out there is an entire sub-culture dedicated to baby wearing. Here are some links to babysling and wrap sites.

sleepywrap

no sew baby wrap make your own (just like the sleepy wrap)

How to sew a pouch sling (this is the one I used the most with Lane)

Peanut shell (If I were going to buy a sling this is the one I would buy)

All is well!

I had another doctor appointment today. Hudson is doing very well. He is already 6 lbs 14 oz and in the 66 percentile. He passed all of his tests in the bio physical profile with flying colors and in record time. Mommy however was referred to a sleep specialist to be tested for sleep apnea. I am pretty sure the apnea problem has something to do with the 20 lbs. basket ball sitting on my stomach at the moment. Overall it was a good visit. We have two more visits before the big day on March 17th.

I knew something was wrong when...

I knew something was wrong when Lane and I were visiting our neighbors down the street. My friend had just made cookies with her girls and offered Lane a beater. Lane just looked at her, he had no idea what to do with it! Now, I do not believe in feeding my kid a steady stream of cookies and cakes but for goodness sakes, he did not even know he was suppose to lick the beater! This is most likely due to my unreasonable fear of cooking. So today I took a step toward being a better mommy and made zucchini bread with Lane. He poured the sugar and even used the mixer and yes, even though there were raw eggs in it, I let him lick the beater. I also taught him a new four letter word when he spilled the zucchini all over the island. I am not proud of that word, but his pronunciation was excellent! So... one step forward , one step back. Here are some pictures from our adventure.

What sports SHOULD be about.

If you live in DeKalb you have probably heard this story. I am proud to be a part of DeKalb High School. Sometimes our kids do "get" the important things.
